Welcome to lettings at Erasmus Darwin Academy, where we thrive to be at the heart of our community. Our spacious, well-maintained facilities are available for hire on weekdays from 5pm to 10pm, and on Saturdays from 8am to 4pm. As well as holiday clubs and bookings outside of traditional term time to meet the diverse needs of our community. Events can also be arranged and hosted upon request. The Academy is a hive of activity with over 30+ community groups and members maximizing the use of our space. We offer our exceptionally well maintained facilities for sessions such as (but not exclusive to!) Basket Ball, Badminton, Tennis, Football, Dance Classes, Ballet Classes, Cricket, Hockey, Tea Kwando, Martial Arts, Musical Performance, Performing Arts, and Music Theatre Production etc. Whether you are a community club or members of the community we embrace all individuals seeking the perfect location to exercise your chosen activity.

The facilities we hire at EDA are usually the classroom, indoor sports hall & outside pitches all of which are well maintained and meet the standards that we expect for FA delivery which is why we continue use the facility on a regular basis. The booking process is always easy and we have always been well accommodated by staff both before and during any of the bookings we have.

My Tae Kwon Do club has been using Erasmus Darwin’s facilities since 1998. It is difficult to find a good venue to teach martial arts as the room size, floor, lighting, changing rooms and all year round accessibility have to meet our needs to enable us to do what we do safely. Over the years we have seen many changes for the better at Erasmus Darwin, the new sports building in my opinion is second to none! I visit many schools in the area as my role as ambassador for the Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain and see what they have in comparison. There is a member of staff present at all times should an issue arise, the knock on effect is security is tight! The same member of staff maintains all areas of the school ensuring that changing room toilets etc are in good order and the access to the school is always available. Erasmus Darwin’s great central location and facilities are without doubt a reason for the ongoing success of our club.

We have been using Erasmus Darwin facilities for the last 7 years. We are a small football coaching company who have been running holiday camps every half term holiday. The service we have received from Erasmus Darwin has been exceptional. All the onsite staff have always looked after us making us feel welcome. Highly recommended this venue to hire

Burntwood Family History Group (www.bfhg.org.uk) moved to EDA at very short notice in June 2025. We use Room 61, which is upstairs in the Sports Block, for both of our regular meetings. The main (speaker led) meeting on the second Monday of the month benefits from being able to display images on a large screen with good quality sound. Having a reliable internet connection is important to us. Some speakers join us via Zoom, as do members unable to join in person. Research evenings on the fourth Monday of the month see members using the in-room computers to uncover hidden family stories. We have access to a kitchen for serving teas and coffees. Members who feel unable to manage the stairs use the lift. We have been made to feel very welcome. Particular thanks must be extended to the Caretakers who have gone out of their way to assist us. Our experience has been wholly positive.

EDA is a great community facility! Our Club plays badminton every Tuesday evening in the sports hall. The courts are good, with space, a high ceiling, and walls a good colour - you can't see feather shuttles in some sports halls! We set the courts up/ put them away, which is easy, and can leave a small kit bag securely on site which saves us a lot of hassle. Yas & Barbara are always willing to help if there are any issues from other uses eg a slippy floor would be dangerous to play on. Parking is good. The EDA office team are friendly and helpful, and make booking straightforward. If you need a community space for something, I would recommend trying EDA.

Socatots have used EDA as one of our Socatots venues for a number of years. We use the hall every Saturday morning during term time and it has been great for us. The space inside the hall is great and is always clean and tidy. It is also one of our busiest venues that we run across Staffordshire.
